If you live on planet earth, then you have probably heard the phrase "You are what you eat". If we look at our tree relatives rings in a cross section, we can recognize which years that tree had plenty of sun and water, and which years the tree experienced droughts or other calamities. Similarly, we, too, grow or shrink based on what we consume or avoid. I always encourage my friends and patients to think about whether what and how they eat is conducive for their highest goals. I personally appreciate a diet that is heavily plant-based, and I always seek out the foodstuffs that can be considered "#bhoga" a #sanskrit word meaning "#food given to the Gods". If you want to grow closer to your divine origin, you should only consume the kinds of preparations that you would offer directly to the divine source. That means foods grown and harvested with love, purity, respect, and sustainability. It is also important to be grateful when consuming foodstuffs by first giving thanks to the avatar of the divine whom you connect with, and also take the time to sit and appreciate your food like it is a holy sacrament. Wikipedia accurately defines #prasadam thusly:
"the consecrated food offered to the deity in the temple which is then shared and eaten by the masses without discrimination". If you can transform regular old "food" into the prasadam described above, you will find that your over all health, spiritual focus, divine connection, and clarity will improve drastically. Please feel free to email me and schedule a nutrition consultation for more information on how to make your food transcendental.
