Normalizing Shamanic Arts around children

A topic that I find to be deeply important, yet often divides many healers, is the introduction of shamanic arts and ceremonies to children. Is it possible that giving young children an education involving more subtle, abstract and esoteric concepts/practices can set them up to be deep alternative thinkers?

Some may argue that teaching children about the shamanic arts might be scary, traumatizing, or may trigger them to develop "bad habits" such as overindulging in consumption techniques involved in many shamanic practices (smoking ceremonial herbs, use of entheogens, talking to otherworldly beings, nudity, self inflicted pain, etc.). I have witnessed individuals who are active supporters of medical grade entheogenic herbs and shamanic practices for adult use, yet they "hide away" their pipes, ceremonial gear, and/or "tone it down" when children are near by or coming over.

There is still a stigma of guilt for "exposing" children to psychedelic/shamanic culture. Additionally, there are many practitioners who are concerned that shamanic ceremonies can awaken certain entities which may cause a disturbance in a child's aura if they are present. Some cultures and practitioners believe that children are more vulnerable to psychic entities, perhaps because they are "fresher" humans who's auric fields have not yet developed the filters/shields/navigation skills of adults. Perhaps they are also more of a target since a child's soul is less diluted by external influences and opinions (less time in that body, so far).

The introduction to, and education of, the shamanic arts has varying perspectives around the world, and throughout history. Most cultures which place an emphasis on shamanic arts as a crucial puzzle piece in their society have been documented to expose children to shamanic ceremonies from birth, and these ceremonies are often included as a right of passage at several different turning points in life. In addition to rights of passage, an individual may be personally treated by a shaman at any age, depending on need based on physical and psychic diseases.

I personally am of the mind that children are already exposed to varying levels of auric disturbance, bad habits, and society's mis-education, which stunts their potential psychic growth from a very young age. I passionately believe that we need to explore the BIG questions with children, the younger the better, instead of brushing them off ("You'll understand when you're older") and gently and gradually prepare them, from birth, to expect and have the skills to navigate ego death, transcendental experiences and many varieties of psychic wave length interaction. This will both protect them, and normalize the use of shamanic tools from a younger age, instead of breeding a sense of "exotic" and "forbidden", "adult exclusive" use which I believe is often the root of substance abuse and obsessive behavior later in life.

What are your thoughts? (I am very eager to receive any comments about this subject from my viewers.)
